A paragraph is enough to start. The things that make a first reply useful rather than a request for more information:

• Which community this is for, and who in it is affected
• What the problem is, in the words the people affected use
• Who decides what gets worked on, and who would run it afterwards
• Whether anything already exists that people are using today
• Any date that is genuinely fixed, and what fixes it
